This agreement is presented to all Pro Workers during the signup process. By completing verification and accepting jobs through NeighborLink, you agree to the terms below. Read carefully — this affects your legal relationship with NeighborLink.
You are an independent contractor, not an employee, joint venture partner, or agent of NeighborLink. This agreement does not create an employment relationship between you and NeighborLink. You are free to accept or decline any job offered through the platform, set your own schedule, and work for other clients — including competitors of NeighborLink.
NeighborLink does not withhold taxes from your earnings. You are solely responsible for reporting your income to the appropriate tax authorities.
By accepting jobs through NeighborLink, you commit to:
All Pro Workers must pass a background check before being verified on the platform. This check is conducted at the time of signup and may be re-run at NeighborLink's discretion. A failed background check will result in account rejection or termination.
You represent that the information provided during signup — including your legal name and identification — is accurate. Providing false information during verification constitutes a breach of this agreement.
Platform commission: NeighborLink retains 15% of each completed job as a platform fee. The remaining 85% is paid to the worker.
No other fees: There is no subscription fee, monthly minimum, or per-bid charge to use NeighborLink. A premium subscription ($29/month) is optional and provides guaranteed job volume and priority listing — it is not required to use the platform.
Example: A $120 job = $102 to you, $18 to NeighborLink.
Payments are deposited to your connected bank account within 3 business days of job completion and homeowner confirmation. Payments are processed via Stripe direct deposit. You must connect a valid bank account through our Stripe integration to receive payouts.
NeighborLink may withhold or delay a payout if there is an active dispute, suspected fraud, or a discrepancy between the completed work and the accepted bid.
You are responsible for your own insurance coverage. NeighborLink does not provide workers' compensation, general liability insurance, or professional liability coverage. Before accepting jobs that involve elevated risk, ensure you have appropriate coverage.
NeighborLink is not liable for any property damage, bodily injury, or financial loss arising from work you perform through the platform. You agree to indemnify and hold NeighborLink harmless from any third-party claims related to your work.
If damage occurs at a job site: document everything with photos, notify NeighborLink immediately, and do not admit liability to the homeowner directly.
You are solely responsible for calculating and paying all applicable federal, state, and local taxes on earnings from NeighborLink jobs. NeighborLink will issue a Form 1099-NEC if you receive $600 or more in a calendar year from NeighborLink.
NeighborLink does not provide tax advice. Consult a qualified tax professional regarding your obligations as an independent contractor.
Pro Workers must adhere to the following standards at all times when using NeighborLink:
Violations of the code of conduct may result in immediate account suspension or termination.
NeighborLink may suspend or terminate your Pro Worker account if you:
Terminated accounts lose access to the platform and all pending payouts may be withheld pending investigation. You may appeal a termination decision by contacting hello@neighborlink.polsia.app.
If a dispute arises with a homeowner — including disagreements about work scope, quality, or payment — contact NeighborLink within 48 hours of the incident.
To file a dispute:
NeighborLink's dispute resolution decisions are final for jobs under $500. For higher-value disputes, you retain the right to pursue resolution through applicable legal channels.
